Customer Reviews about Aspen Dental

  • I travel a lot and had challenges with my dental work at another office out of state, specifically with a bad crown. The office in Nashville got me in right away and replaced the crown at no charge! The staff were all great and a big shout out to Dentist, K. Kaelin!

There seems to be a similar pattern forming with all of the 1 star reviews of this place. Young, attractive females with perfectly healthy mouths can be talked into unnecessary and overpriced procedures without due consultation or evaluation over a duration of time. It is easy to shock someone into immediately spending whatever it will take when professionals tell them they have periodontal disease which will follow them for LIFE! Seriously, after looking at my wife's perfectly healthy mouth, they put enough fear and shame in her that I did not find out until she was multiple visits in and she started getting that uh-oh feeling about the appointments. It started when my wife scheduled a routine cleaning at the office. She did not get one on the day of her first appointment - which was all that she wanted. Instead, she was told she had advanced periodontal disease and sent to see the business guy who scheduled her for a series of appointments and procedures. Please note she has excellent dental hygiene and was having no pain or inflammation whatsoever. She just decided to switch dentists due to changes in our dental plan and found these people online. She encountered high pressure 'sales tactics' which should never be part of a medical practice especially when it includes diagnosing you of something you do not have. After some multi-appointment 'deep cleaning' procedures, a tooth filling, and follow ups, they also sent her home with some very overpriced mouthwash. Luckily at one point she inquired further about one of the bills over $600 and learned that it included a $160 toothbrush which she did not ask for or need... we both have oral b electric toothbrushes already. At that point I think she knew this was all adding up to something far more than she had asked for and talked to me about the visits and the bills. Upon learning about all of this (unfortunately a little too late) they had already racked up enough visits and sales on her to cost us nearly $1,000 outside of what insurance would pay. I spoke with my brother who is a dentist and he had a lot to share. These types of tactics are becoming all too common in dental offices around the country. She will not be going back and I am glad they did not get the opportunity to permanently affect her teeth any more than the single filling performed - which frustratingly enough has been giving her sensitivity on that tooth since. Having gone in with no issues prior to her visits, this saddens me more than it angers me.

The first couple of times I came here a year and a half ago, it was amazing and the staff was wonderful. However, the more I go back, the worse and worse it gets. The staff is rude, unprofessional and typically have no clue what they are doing. First, I always have to wait at least 20-30 minutes past my appointment time before actually starting my appointment. Second, none of them talk to each other and on my last visit I had to be asked what they wrote in my file. How am I supposed to know? I feel like I am getting scammed into buying things I don't need because they don't know what they are doing. I love the actual dentists- the guy that did my root canal was amazing and it didn't hurt a bit. The dental hygienists however, are beyond horrible. I always leave in pain from just a cleaning. They are the worst and I've had a different one every time I have gone (at least 3 or 4) which I don't understand. My first one, a younger brunette, was great and listened to me, catering to my hate of mint flavor. Every other one however, do not get me started. I wish I had names but since I've had someone different every time I've gone, there's no way to keep up. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
